Default Creatine and Depression ?

I have been using creatine over the last six weeks or so and over that time have noticed that I have been really low and depressed. Has anyone else ever had this experience with creatine ?

Have you stopped taking or switched meds? Girlfriend just left? Started listening to Nirvana? Started drinking copious amounts of alcohol?

I've been taking creatine on and off since I don't know when, and I've never been depressed because of it. I would seriously look at outside factors!!

Are you cutting carbs at the same time or eating regular diet?

Agreed with the rest- it's definately gotta be something else- I can;t foresee in any realm of possibility creatine causing depression

Nope, never. I also seem to be a non-responder too, though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Creatine shouldn't cause depression though. If anything, it has nootropic properties and may slightly help with cognition.

I get sad on creatine because I bloat up from all the water retention.

You're probably over-reaching because you're using the creatine.
