Default Neck jerk question

Hi,

I was wondering about the neck jerk that is mentioned in the beginners program outlined by Glenn...should that be done with a split stance, or is the receiving position for this more like a quarter squat, like in the power versions of the snatch, for instance?

Also, I might as well ask about the grip - am I correct in assuming that this should be a clean grip (or as close as possible)? I will probably not be able to get as close as in a regular jerk from the front, but would still like to know what I should strive for.

Best regards,
/R

If it says jerk, and you are a splitter, then you should do a split jerk. If you don't know, then do split jerk.

Hand spacing should be about the same as in front or as close as you can get. I use the same grip width for rack jerks as in front. But, I also widen my grip on the clean recovery for the jerk.
