i was looking forward to that article too! glenn, when you first mentioned that you were going to get it done, i checked back often quite frequently. given the success i've had with the beginner template, i wanted to see what else i could change after being on it for about 6 months.

Quick question though if you could... just how long will an average trainee be sticking with the beginner template before moving on? Are we talking like Starting Strength where you can probably use it for over a year and conceivably be squatting in the 400s? Or is it more like 6-9 months, squatting in the 300s, and time to change programming? I am kind of assuming its the latter just because oly is much more skill intensive and you can benefit from going over 3 days/wk at earlier stages of training advancement compared to powerlifting. |

This depends on the lifter. A 12 year old might not start adding training volume for a couple of years, a guy starting weightlifting after coming out of collegiate football (like Jon North) might start moving into intermediate type training within a couple of months.
