Why cant i get down FAST...???
I can snatch (get under) as fast as anyone. I'm no freak, but i'm not slow. I was pretty goddamn musclebound when i started this, but i dont like weaknesses, and i'm fanatical about addressing them. I've gotten a LOT better at this. Upper body flexibility is still nowhere near some ov you guys, but it doesn't impede my snatching or jerks... it just keeps me from losing lifts behind, which frankly, i'm fine with.
The fastest lifter that i personally know, is fast. He is nearing that 'teleport' speed under the bar. He suggested drop snatches, as that is what he used to get his magical ability. The more i do, the better i get, he's been right so far. But it is NOT my upper body size or flexibility that impedes me getting down fast. Its my knees.
LOWER body is the problem. My knees, which are completely healthy mind you, just go down only so fast. I can snap into a just-above parallel drop snatch, or snatch for that matter, then ride it down the last few inches, but dropping fully into rock-bottom in either exercise just doesn't easily happen. My lower body flexibility is definitely good.
Good is not good enough. How do i get the lower body to be Taner Sagir or Lu Xiaojun-fast...???
I have a problem thinking that some people just cannot do these things, and that others are so gifted their abilities cannot be learned, or at least approached.
