Dr. Diran
The injury starts with a sensation of a rib, close the the bottom of the scapula, pulling down very quickly. Shortly after, the pain becomes more spread and is felt between the spine and scapula but no where else. Later on muscles around this area tighten up a lot but ease up after a little manipulation. Then a dull sensation is felt across the spine. First time this happened was 2 weeks ago on a clean when I might have received the bar with a forward curved back. It cleared up after a few days with stretches then today whilst squatting, the same happened again. I have no history of back troubles. Your advice is much appreciated. Many thanks. |

If it is a facet problem it would have to be from the cervical spine referring pain to the shoulder blade. Sounds more like a rib. Ribs are usually easy to adjust, but not so easy to keep in place. They don't dislocate rather thaey rotate and cause irritation. I would keep getting it adjusted as well as the neck. Give it about 8 visits, it just takes repitition sometimes.

A few days after I can feel an irritated rib but perhaps also some soft tissue problems running horizontally to the mid of the blade. The neck has loosened up a little more now but I shall look to receive the help you recommended. Many thanks for the reply.
